Beckham Injured

David Beckham tore his left Achilles tendon this week. He had it surgically repaired and will be unable to return to soccer for at least 6 months. This is a terrible injury for a professional athlete and can lead to significant impairment of future performance.

At Issaquah Foot & Ankle Specialist we often see Achilles tendon injuries from our weekend athletes. Typically the injury occurs during a basketball game or soccer. Our patients often describe what feels like somebody kicking them in the back of the leg and weakness of the affected limb.

Do not let Achilles tendinitis lead to a rupture. Chronic disease of tendons predispose one to rupture. Proper treatment is essential. For all of us recreational athletes please remember to stretch daily especially the Achilles.
